Havana Childers earned her Master’s in Social Work at University of Tennessee’s Nashville campus and her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Eastern Kentucky University.
While in graduate school she interned at Vanderbilt University and at Tristar Centennial Women’s and Children’s Hospital. At Centennial she worked with pediatrics, PICU and high-risk ob-gyn patients. During this time she realized how important it is for children and adults to feel supported and encouraged not just during the hardest times of their lives, but all the time.
Upon graduation, Havana traded in her cowboy boots for flip flops and moved to Mount Pleasant, SC where she currently resides with her dog, Summer.
Before joining the Modern Minds team, she worked with children in foster care and in a school setting. She is excited to join Modern Minds as a Wellness Navigator and cannot wait to encourage her clients to be their best self.
In her free time, Havana enjoys needlepointing, going to different restaurants in Charleston, rooftop yoga, being outside with Summer and reading.
